COLLECTION

Of the 250 instruments Roland Hauke has built so far, he has not sold a single one in the trade. Almost all instruments are still in his possession. This has resulted in a unique collection of one-of-a-kind instruments, which are works of art and instruments at the same time, and which are being presented to the international public for the first time. It is not without reason that Hauke is called "the Stradivarius of guitar making" in music circles.

ROLAND HAUKE

Roland Hauke studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, took the teaching degree and taught art, fine arts education and crafts education to students at Viennese high schools. At the same time, he began designing and building unique electric guitars and electric basses in 1966. He was obsessed with finding the perfect sound. Each of his instruments should be unique from the design, the choice of woods to the sound behavior.

Instruments

They are masterpieces of craftsmanship with a sound spectrum that cannot be compared to any instruments on the market. Each instrument was specially designed, developed and built by hand, sometimes in months of work. The oldest wood used by Roland Hauke is 20,000 years old. Some necks of the electric guitars have 50 layers of wood. Take a look at a selection of fantastic instruments of the Hauke Collection.

Handmade with passion.

Roland Hauke is a visual artist, instrument maker, sound magician and designer with a knowledge of electric guitars and electric basses that is probably unique in the world. Each of his instruments was handmade by himself. How an instrument looks and sounds is no coincidence, but the result of decades of knowledge. For his unique instruments Roland Hauke needed no company, no manufacture, no employees. They were all created during more than five decades at home in a small village with 1,400 inhabitants in Lower Austria. In gratitude to its most famous citizen, the town dedicated its own museum - the Hauke Museum - to the artist Roland Hauke.
